Vela Park Food Works is a 5,000+ sq. ft. multi-concept food hall in Atlanta featuring chef-driven food stalls, a full bar, seasonal programming, a large patio with a one acre park, and community-focused activations. Backed by the experienced hospitality team behind Chattahoochee Food Works, Vela Park is built to be a dynamic neighborhood anchor with strong volume and high standards.
We are seeking an experienced General Manager with proven success in high-volume hospitality environments.
Position Summary
The General Manager will oversee all operations, financial performance, staff leadership, vendor coordination, and guest experience. This role requires strong financial management, leadership of large teams, and comfort operating in a fast-paced, multi-revenue-stream environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all daily operations of a high-volume food hall.
- Manage operational costs (labor, COGS, expenses) and revenue.
- Lead, coach, and develop department managers and hourly teams (50+ staff).
- Drive revenue through events, programming, and community engagement.
- Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction and service standards.
- Maintain vendor/tenant relationships and operational compliance.
- Oversee hiring, training, scheduling, and labor cost controls.
- Ensure health, safety, and sanitation standards are upheld.
- Collaborate with ownership on strategic growth initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of GM or senior leadership experience.
- Experience managing venues generating $3M+ annually preferred.
- Food hall, multi-unit restaurant, hotel, or large-scale venue experience strongly preferred.
- Proven success managing large teams (40–75 employees).
- Strong financial acumen and budget management.
- Fluency with Toast POS or similar restaurant POS systems required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace (Excel, Word, Sheets, Docs).
- Experience in high-volume bar & beverage programs preferred.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and events.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $80,000 – $95,000 base salary (based on experience).
